LeBron Held to Too High of Standard

At 22-years-old, LeBron James is being held to too high of a standard by being criticized for not signing an open-letter to the Chinese government denouncing its role in Darfur. (story)

Yes, celebrities should take up social causes because of their unique position to push for social change, but if a 22-year-old basketball player from Ohio wants to not sign a letter addressed to the Chinese government, that's his prerogative, and he should not be denounced for it.

MySpace Bans Sex Offender, Giving False Security to Parents

A registered sex offender is upset that MySpace banned him from creating a MySpace account.

Though it is a good thing that MySpace denied a registered sex offender from signing up, when it becomes public information that they block sex offenders, parents are given false hope that MySpace is a safe place for children.

free hugs campaign creeps me out a little



The people that stand somewhere holding a sign saying 'Free Hugs' creep me out. Yes, I enjoy hugging, and I'm sure some people really need hugs, but a stranger holding a bum-like sign soliciting free hugs is creepy and not the best way to do it. They even have a website and a following....
